Role Purpose
We are seeking a dynamic, strategic, and forward-thinking Associate Business Director - OOH to join our team in Karachi, Pakistan. Reporting directly to the Business Director - Digital, this leadership role is critical in driving the convergence of traditional Out-of-Home (OOH) media with cutting-edge digital integrations. You will be responsible for managing high-value client portfolios, nurturing senior-level relationships, and transforming client media investments into high-performing, measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
Strategic Account Management & Client Relations
- Trusted Advisor: Entrench senior client relationships to position WPP Media as the principal business and media partner.
- Strategic Approach: Design, deliver, and oversee the execution of comprehensive media strategies tailored to meet the client's core business objectives.
- KPI Management: Define clear Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and manage the rigorous quality of output presented to the client.
Financial Planning & P&L Ownership
- Commercial Accountability: Manage the account's P&L, including the precise delivery of agreed budgets and revenue targets.
- Scope of Work (SOW): Develop detailed scopes of work, demonstrating a deep understanding of financial implications, budget requirements, and account profitability.
- Fee Structure Education: Advise and educate clients on agency fee structures, managing out-of-scope projects efficiently to secure additional profitable revenue.
Team Leadership & Ecosystem Collaboration
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Coordinate resources from across the global WPP network, specialist groups, and creative agencies to meet strict client deadlines.
- Resource Allocation: Formulate annual staffing plans based on performance data and future contingencies, reviewing resource allocation quarterly.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Lead key relationships across media vendors, creative partners, and internal planning teams to synthesize digital and physical OOH strategies.
Milestones for Success
- In 3 Months: Successfully build strong internal team rapport, establish high-trust relationships with key media vendors, and ensure all operational processes are strictly compliant.
- In 6 Months: Take complete ownership of executing monthly client meetings and implement performance-improving buying changes that directly elevate client media returns.
- In 12 Months: Demonstrate advanced media negotiation skills on behalf of clients, successfully sell-in new agency initiatives, and begin developing leadership competencies for the next organizational level.
Requirements & Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience: 8+ years of proven experience in Media Planning/Buying, with a significant track record of leading high-performing teams in a relevant media or agency field.
- Education: Master's degree in Marketing, Media Sciences, or an equivalent discipline from a reputable business school.
- Revenue Generation: Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth through emerging media opportunities and established strategic partnerships.
