About This Role
Karakoram International University, Gilgit invites applications from eminent academicians/scholars of international repute for the position of Vice Chancellor. KIU is a prominent public sector institution of higher learning established in 2002, supporting development in the Gilgit-Baltistan region. The Vice Chancellor will lead the university's vision for academic excellence, research, and administrative management in this strategically important institution serving mountain communities across Pakistan and neighboring regions.
Key Responsibilities
- • Provide academic and administrative leadership to the university
- • Oversee teaching, research, and administration operations
- • Manage university finances and fund allocation
- • Lead institutional development and strategic planning
- • Represent the university at national and international forums
- • Ensure quality assurance and accreditation standards
- • Supervise academic programs and faculty development
- • Coordinate with government and stakeholder bodies
Requirements & Qualifications
- ✓ PhD from a HEC-recognized University/Institution
- ✓ Minimum 20 years experience in teaching/research/administration
- ✓ At least 5 years as a full professor in HEC-recognized University or equivalent rank
- ✓ Professional experience in national or international Research and Development organization
- ✓ Demonstrated experience in teaching, research, administration, and fund management
- ✓ Experience at leadership position (Chairman/Principal/Director/Dean or equivalent)
- ✓ Age: Not more than 65 years on the last date for submission of applications
