Job Overview

Saudi Aramco, one of the world's leading integrated energy and chemicals enterprises, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic Reliability & Asset Integrity Engineer to join its world-class Upstream asset management division.

Operating at the absolute center of Aramco's operational excellence framework, this critical engineering role is responsible for ensuring the long-term mechanical integrity, safety, and reliability of world-scale surface production facilities, complex pipeline infrastructure, and processing plants. By integrating predictive data analytics, advanced non-destructive testing (NDT) methodologies, and structural risk-based inspection frameworks, you will minimize unscheduled downtime, optimize lifecycle maintenance costs, and safeguard critical industrial assets.

Vacancy Details & Baseline Criteria

  • Job Title: Reliability & Asset Integrity Engineer
  • Employment Type: Full-Time (Exact schedule to be specified in the formal job offer)
  • Job Location: Within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (Specific upstream asset or regional office to be confirmed in the formal offer)

Minimum Educational Requirements:

  • Degree: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related engineering discipline from an approved and recognized university.

Required Experience & Technical Skills

  • Industry Experience: A minimum of ten (10) years of direct experience in asset integrity management, reliability engineering, or mechanical static/rotating equipment maintenance within the oil and gas, petrochemical, or heavy refining sectors.
  • Asset Integrity Frameworks: Masterful knowledge of Risk-Based Inspection (RBI), Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles according to international standards (e.g., API 580, API 581, ASME).
  • Equipment Expertise: Deep technical familiarity with static equipment integrity (pressure vessels, piping networks, storage tanks, heat exchangers) and rotating equipment dynamics.
  • Corrosion & Materials Mitigation: A strong understanding of damage mechanisms in the oil and gas industry (e.g., sulfidation, stress corrosion cracking, hydrogen-induced cracking) and the application of corrosion control/monitoring techniques.
  • Reliability Software Systems: Proven proficiency in using asset performance management (APM) systems, commercial reliability modeling software (such as Weibull++, Meridium, or SAP PM modules), and data visualization tools like Power BI.
  • Preferred Certifications: Holding active professional certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), or API inspector credentials (such as API 510, API 570, or API 653) is highly advantageous.

Key Responsibilities & Job Duties

  • Develop, optimize, and execute comprehensive asset integrity and reliability strategies for upstream oil and gas production assets to guarantee safe and continuous operations.
  • Lead formal Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations following complex equipment failures or unexpected downtime events, delivering definitive engineering recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Establish and update Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) programs, determining optimal inspection intervals and specific non-destructive testing (NDT) scopes based on calculated risk profiles.
  • Analyze asset key performance indicators (KPIs) including Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF) and Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) to diagnose underperforming systems and engineer corrective solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with Corrosion Engineering and Operations teams to assess active corrosion rates, validate chemical dosing efficiency, and adjust material selection frameworks accordingly.
  • Conduct detailed mechanical fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments according to API 579/ASME FFS-1 standards to evaluate the structural integrity of degraded or flawed components.
  • Provide technical oversight and risk evaluations during scheduled facility turnarounds (T&Is), review contractor quality control documentation, and support major capital replacement projects.
  • Mentor, train, and transfer technical asset reliability knowledge to younger engineers and incoming technical staff within the organizational workforce development program.

Working Environment & Benefits

Saudi Aramco provides a highly rewarding, collaborative, and globally competitive professional working environment. Asset management teams utilize some of the most advanced digital twin technologies, predictive AI tools, and metallurgical testing laboratories in existence today. Financial remuneration packages, international relocation assistance, tax-protected savings schemes, comprehensive health networks, and premium corporate housing allocations match the elite performance expectations of this business-critical path.

Expert Advice for Applicants

  • Quantify Your Reliability Wins: When describing your experience, don't just state that you managed assets. Quantify the commercial impact using industry metrics. Frame your achievements around numbers, such as: "Implemented an RCM program on critical injection pumps that extended MTBF by 35% and reduced annual unscheduled maintenance expenditure by $450k."
  • Lead with Your API and CMRP Credentials: Industry-recognized credentials serve as an initial filter for candidate screeners at this level. Ensure that abbreviations like API 510/570 or CMRP are prominently listed right next to your name or within the header of your CV so they are immediately indexed by the tracking algorithms.
  • Showcase Digital Twin and APM System Familiarity: Saudi Aramco is heavily integrated into advanced digital automation. If you have experience connecting live field sensor data or predictive vibration analytics directly into an Asset Performance Management (APM) software suite like Meridium to build dynamic risk models, make that a headline item in your profile.
