About the Job
The Punjab Transport Company (PTC) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to serve as Chief Financial Officer. This leadership role is pivotal in managing the company's financial health and ensuring fiscal integrity within the transport sector. Operating on a 3-year contract basis, the CFO will oversee the strategic financial management of the organization, ensuring that all accounting, budgeting, and tax matters align with professional standards and public sector requirements.
Proposed Key Responsibilities
As the Chief Financial Officer, your core responsibilities involve high-level oversight and management of the company's financial operations:
- Financial Management: Directing the organization’s financial planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
- Compliance & Accounting: Ensuring all accounting matters and tax filings are executed in accordance with national regulations and professional standards.
- Internal Audit: Overseeing internal audit functions to maintain transparency and accountability in all financial dealings.
- Strategic Leadership: Providing senior-level management to ensure the financial sustainability of PTC’s operations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional Certification: Must be a member of one of the following recognized bodies of Professional Accountants:
- Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP)
- Institute of Cost and Management Accountants (ICMA)
- Institute of Chartered Accountants England & Wales (ICAEW)
- Cost and Management Accountants (CMA), USA
- Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK
- OR Academic Qualification: A person holding a master's degree in finance from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).
- Professional Experience: At least 12 years of experience in financial management, budgeting, tax, accounting matters, and internal audit.
- Leadership Experience: Including at least 5 years’ experience at Chief/GM/Senior Management level, preferably in the public sector.
- Age Limit: Age not more than 55 years.

- Interview Selection: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for the interview. No T.A./D.A. will be given to candidates called for test/interview.
- Application Processing Fee: The applicants are required to pay an Application Processing Fee (non-refundable) Rs. 800/- before or on the closing date only through bank deposit slip at Bank of Punjab, Account No. 6580003250800016 (Punjab Transport Company) and upload the scanned copy of paid challan with online job application.
- Payment Restrictions: Applications without processing fee and/or processing fee submitted through Postal Order/ Bank Draft/online transfer will not be considered/accepted in any case.
- Multiple Applications: Candidates, who want to apply for more than one post, must apply separately and pay separate processing fee for each post.
- Experience Credibility: The experience as part time, honorary/ self-employed and apprentice/ intern will not be considered/ counted as experience.
- Government Employees: Applicants already in government service should apply through the proper channel and submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of interview. Date of applicant's appointment and nature of job should be clearly reflected in NOC.
- Original Documents: Applicants would be required to bring their original documents; educational certificates, experience letters, paid Challan Form, driving license against the relevant post, and any other relevant document at the time of interview.
- Verification: Candidates passing the interview will have to submit a copy of their degrees/certificates duly verified by HEC (in case of a foreign degree an equivalence certificate issued by HEC) along with a fresh police character verification certificate and medical fitness certificate issued by district hospital.
- Quotas: Government approved quotas (if applicable) will be observed subject to fulfillment of applicable terms & conditions by the candidate.
- PTC Authority: Punjab Transport Company reserves the right to accept or reject any application/cancel the recruitment process altogether at any stage without assigning any reason.
Expert Advice for Applicants: The PTC selection process for the CFO position is highly rigorous and documentation-dependent. To ensure your application is successful, verify that your bank deposit slip is for exactly Rs. 800/- and clearly shows the PTC account number. Because the portal does not allow for resubmissions, ensure your HEC-recognized transcripts are scanned in high resolution (4K if possible) to maintain legibility. Finally, if you are a current government employee, obtain your NOC immediately, as it must clearly state your appointment date and job nature to be valid during the interview stage.
