Job Overview

Izzat Ali Shah Hospital, LalaRukh Wah Cantt, under the POF Welfare Trust, is seeking to appoint a Medical Superintendent (MS) on a contract basis. The Medical Superintendent will be responsible for the overall administrative and clinical management of the hospital, ensuring quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and organizational growth.

This is a strategic leadership position requiring a blend of clinical expertise, hospital management knowledge, and strong administrative acumen.

Key Responsibilities

• Overall hospital administration, clinical governance, and operational management.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards (PHC, PMDC/PMC).
• Quality assurance and patient safety oversight.
• Budget planning, cost control, and financial management.
• HR management, staff recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
• Strategic planning and organizational development.
• Liaison with POF Welfare Trust management and external stakeholders.
• Maintain hospital accreditation and certification standards.

Eligibility Criteria

• MBBS or equivalent degree recognized by PMDC / Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
• Postgraduate qualification in Hospital Management / Public Health Management (MPH / MHA / MHPM / MBA in Health Management) is preferred.
• 5–10 years of working experience as Deputy Medical Superintendent (DMS), Assistant Medical Superintendent (AMS), or Medical Superintendent (MS).
• 3 years of teaching experience (optional but valued).
• Demonstrated experience in quality assurance (e.g., ISO, JCI certification), budgeting, and HR management.
• Currently registered with the Pakistan Medical Commission (PMC).
• Preferably resident of Wah and surrounding areas (for round-the-clock availability and emergency responsiveness).

Additional Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and strategic planning abilities.
• In-depth knowledge of hospital laws and healthcare regulations (Punjab Healthcare Commission, PMDC standards).
• Familiarity with health information systems (HIS) and hospital management software.
• Budget planning, cost control, and financial management expertise.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage diverse teams and foster a culture of excellence and patient-centeredness.
