The Jinnah Institute of Cardiology (JIC), Lahore is a premier cardiology center under the Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department, Government of Punjab. The Institute is dedicated to providing advanced cardiac care, conducting research, and training healthcare professionals in cardiology and related disciplines.

Job Purpose & Overview

The Medical Director is a senior technical leadership position, reporting directly to the Board of Management. The role involves providing comprehensive medical leadership and direction to the clinical staff of the Jinnah Institute of Cardiology. The appointment is on a lump-sum contract basis for three years, and is eligible for re-appointment based on satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall medical direction and clinical governance to the Institute.
• Ensure quality standards and best practices in patient care and service delivery.
• Oversee clinical operations and departmental coordination.
• Contribute to institutional policies, protocols, and professional development.
• Lead clinical decision-making and quality improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with departments on research and training programs.
• Report to the Board of Management on medical and clinical matters.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• Qualification: MBBS or equivalent qualification recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) or Higher Education Commission (HEC).
• Postgraduate Qualification (Mandatory):
  • MD (Internal Medicine / Cardiology), OR
  • MS (Cardiac Surgery), OR
  • FCPS (Part II) in relevant specialty, OR
  • MRCP with CCT (Certified of Completion of Training) in Cardiology, OR
  • Diplomate American Board of Internal Medicine / Cardiology
• Experience: Minimum 10 years post-fellowship experience in a recognized healthcare institution, with at least 05 years in a clinical leadership or managerial position.
• Age Limit: 40 to 70 years of age at the time of application.

Quotas & Eligibility

• Open merit positions available.
• 5% quota for minorities (religious minorities).

• Government employees must apply through proper channel with No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.

2. Alternatively, download the form from: health.punjab.gov.pk
3. Complete the application form with accurate and detailed information.
4. Attach attested photocopies of:
   • CNIC (both sides)
   • MBBS Certificate and transcripts
   • Postgraduate degree certificates and diplomas
   • Equivalence certificate from HEC/PMDC (for foreign qualifications)
   • Experience certificates from all previous employers
   • Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Selection Process

• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
• Interview panel will include representatives from the Board of Management and medical professionals.
• Equivalence certificates from HEC/PMDC are mandatory for foreign qualifications at interview stage.
• No TA/DA (Traveling Allowance/Daily Allowance) will be provided for interview attendance.

• Appointment will be made on a three-year lump-sum contract basis.
• Eligible for re-appointment based on satisfactory performance evaluation.
