Position Overview
The Consultant Pathologist position represents a specialized medical role in the Department of Pathology at JIC. The appointment is on a lump-sum contract basis for three years. The Consultant Pathologist will provide diagnostic pathology services, contribute to laboratory operations, and support medical education and research initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide accurate pathological diagnosis and interpretation of clinical specimens.
- Assist in laboratory quality assurance and diagnostic protocol implementation.
- Support senior pathologists in diagnostic challenges and case reviews.
- Contribute to research projects and academic publications.
- Participate in training and mentoring of laboratory staff.
- Ensure compliance with diagnostic standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with clinical departments on diagnostic matters.
Prescribed Qualification & Experience
- Basic Qualification: MBBS or equivalent medical qualification recognized by Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC).
- Postgraduate Qualification (Mandatory):
- FCPS (Fellowship) in Pathology, OR
- Ph.D in Pathology, OR
- M.Phil in Pathology, OR
- M.Sc (Four years) in Pathology, OR
- Other equivalent qualification in Pathology recognized by PM&DC
- Research Publications: At least 02 research papers published in standard medical journals approved by PM&DC/HEC.
- Age Limit: 30 to 55 years of age at the time of application.

- Government employees must apply through proper channel with No Objection Certificate (NOC) from their department.

- MBBS Certificate and transcripts
- Postgraduate degree certificates and diplomas (FCPS/Ph.D/M.Phil/M.Sc)
- Equivalence certificate from HEC/PMDC (for foreign qualifications)
- Research papers published or copies of publications
- Domicile certificate
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Selection Process
- Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview.
- Interview panel will include Board of Management representatives and medical professionals.
- Equivalence certificates from HEC/PMDC are mandatory for foreign qualifications at interview stage.
- No TA/DA (Traveling Allowance/Daily Allowance) will be provided for interview attendance.
General Terms & Conditions
- Appointment will be made on a three-year lump-sum contract basis.
- General age relaxation in upper age limit is admissible as per Government of Punjab policy.
- All candidates must provide valid documentation and certificates.
- False or forged documents will lead to disqualification.
