Expert Advice for Applicants
- Highlight Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) Mastery: Corporate hospitality brands maintain zero-tolerance policies regarding electrical safety. Structuring resume bullet points to show how the applicant systematically integrated LOTO standards into daily shift routines will immediately position them as a low-risk, highly professional operator during initial HR screening.
- Quantify Central Plant and Asset Volume Knowledge: Recruiters screen for scale capabilities. Applicants should explicitly detail the types of equipment they have maintained—such as: "Managed shift operations for central plants incorporating 500kW emergency diesel backup generators, multi-zone chilled water pumps, and industrial laundry electrical panels."
- Emphasize Service Recovery and Shift Handover Accuracy: Engineering in a hotel is as much about guest service recovery as it is about wires and switches. Showcasing clear communication discipline—like detailing experience working alongside a Duty Engineer or managing complex digital maintenance logbooks—demonstrates a strong corporate fit for IHG’s strict operational standards.
