Job Purpose

The Senior Assistant, Information Management is a technical support role dedicated to enhancing the data literacy and operational efficiency of the IFRC. You will manage the infrastructure for data collection, analysis, and dissemination, ensuring that humanitarian response efforts are backed by accurate, real-time evidence. This position supports both the Secretariat and National Societies in scaling their digital maturity.

Key Responsibilities

  • System Maintenance: Oversee and maintain operational data infrastructure, ensuring continuous functionality of IFRC IM products like dashboards and reporting portals.
  • Data Visualization: Create and update infographics, maps, and interactive dashboards (PowerBI/Tableau) for high-level decision makers.
  • Field Support: Provide technical guidance on mobile data collection tools, specifically KoBo Toolbox and Red Rose.
  • Information Flow: Act as a focal point for coordinating technical data requirements across Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting (PMER) teams.
  • Knowledge Management: Maintain efficient filing systems on SharePoint and Teams, acting as a unit "champion" for information organization.
  • Capacity Building: Assist in facilitating training sessions to improve data literacy at both strategic and operational levels.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience: 3-5 years of professional experience in information management, database administration, or project coordination.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in GIS software, data visualization tools (PowerBI), and mobile data collection platforms.
  • Soft Skills: Strong analytical mindset, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to build functional networks across multicultural teams.
  • Language: Fluent in written and spoken English. Knowledge of another IFRC language (Arabic, French, or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Data Science, Social Sciences, or a related field.
