About the Job


The Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries Department is currently inviting applications from qualified individuals throughout Punjab for the project titled "GIS-Based Protection Regime and Establishment of Digital Communication Cell in Forestry, Wildlife & Fisheries Department". This initiative aims to modernize environmental protection through advanced spatial technologies and digital communication.


Position Overview and Eligibility


The department is looking to fill one position for a GIS Assistant (PPS-5), offering an initial monthly salary of 70,000/-. While the headquarters is in Lahore, the selected candidate may be posted anywhere within the Punjab province.

To qualify for this role, applicants must hold a Bachelor’s Degree (Second Division) from a university recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). The degree should be in a relevant technical field such as Space Sciences, Geographical Information System (GIS), RS & GIS, Geo-Informatics, Geography, or Geomatics.


Age Limit and Relaxations


The standard age bracket for this position is 22 to 28 years. However, in accordance with the Government of Punjab's notification dated 08-08-2016, a general age relaxation is applied at the time of advertisement. Specifically, male candidates receive an additional 5 years and female candidates receive an additional 8 years toward the upper age limit.


Employment Terms and Conditions


This recruitment is strictly on a contractual basis for the duration of the development project, and the selected individual will not be entitled to claim permanent appointment against this post. Annual increments will be managed according to the approved PC-1 and existing government policies.


Candidates already in government service must ensure they have obtained or applied for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) or Departmental Permission Certificate (DPC), which must be presented during the interview phase if shortlisted.


Application and Selection Process


The application process involves a mandatory two-step procedure that must be completed by May 31, 2026. First, all candidates must register and apply online through the official portal at https://jobs.punjab.gov.pk/. Following the digital submission, a hard copy of the online form must be sent to the office of the Director Geo-Spatial Planning & Monitoring Forest GIS LAB at 108-Ravi Road Forest Colony, Lahore.


This physical submission must include attested photocopies of the candidate’s CNIC, Domicile certificate (restricted to Punjab), Academic degrees, and any relevant Experience Certificates. It is crucial that the name of the post is clearly written on both the application and the mailing envelope.


Shortlisted candidates will be contacted via their provided email or contact number for the next stages of the selection process. On the day of the interview, candidates are required to bring their original documentation, two recent passport-sized photographs, and a comprehensive CV. No TA/DA will be provided for those traveling for tests or interviews.
