About This Role

National Bank of Pakistan seeks General Banking Officer (OG-III) for Aitemaad Islamic Banking division. Report to Branch Operations Manager. Manage branch operations, ensure regulatory compliance, process accounts, authorize transactions, manage vaults and ATM operations, handle clearing, manage customer complaints, maintain GL balancing, address audits, and ensure TAT compliance. Requires 1+ year banking with 6+ months branch operations experience. Positions in Bhimber, Buner, Mir Ali, Karachi, Multan, Bhalwal, and Sheikhupura.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all operational affairs of the Branch along with regulatory compliance (KYC/AML, product processing, customer service)
  • Ensure compliance of banking laws, regulations, instructions and SOP including Shariah Compliance
  • Ensure seamless account openings within stipulated TAT with minimum/zero processing errors
  • Perform, monitor and authorize all daily financial and non-financial transactions after verification
  • Ensure Branch and cash vaults are opened and closed on time following all required controls
  • Review and perform balancing of vaults, tokens, taxes, payable, receivable, fixed deposits, call deposits, remittance instruments, GLs
  • Review all suspense, parking and clearing GL heads and inform Branch Operations Manager of discrepancies
  • Ensure seamless processing of Inward & Outward Clearing and interbranch transactions at the branch
  • Perform balancing of ATM related GL heads and inform line management of overage/shortage
  • Monitor dormant, inoperative and unclaimed accounts and serve customer notices as required
  • Manage customers' queries/complaints regarding operations for effective and efficient resolution
  • Maintain highest customer service standards at all times to ensure zero complaint management
  • Manage and make provisions for all budgetary requirements (incomes, expenses, accruals) in timely manner
  • Ensure all branch General Ledger Heads for assets, liabilities, income & expenses are balanced and in order
  • Ensure all Audit requirements and observations are addressed (internal and external)
  • Maintain all files, registers/documentations and comprehensive records maintenance related to daily operations
  • Ensure all processes are completed within specified Turnaround time (TAT)
  • Perform any other assignment as assigned by supervisor(s)

Requirements & Qualifications

  • Minimum Graduation from a local or international university/college/institute recognized by HEC of Pakistan
  • Master's degree/Islamic Banking certification/degree or diploma preferred
  • Minimum 01 year of banking experience
  • At least 06 months experience in Branch Operations (mandatory)
  • Sound knowledge of Branch Operations, General Accounts and SBP Regulations
  • Good Analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and time management skills
  • Good customer handling skills
  • Good command over MS Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
